  My Story...

   "Victim to Victorious"

I was once a victim of violence and abuse. 

It was physical, emotional, verbal...

and sexual too!

As well as financial and spiritual...

just to name a few!

The list goes on and on and on...

I held on to hope, not realizing my internal battle had just begun!

It was to the extreme...

in all forms of misuse...

Thinking over and over, if only I could break loose!

Well, you might have said to me, "Girl, you got it going on!

Pack up all your possessions

and say so long"

You pondered the questions..."Why did you stay?  Why not just leave?"

You see, it wasn't easy.  I didn't have the mindset to believe!

The pain I endured, and the shame I felt...

Was like a magnet attracted to steel,

only I could feel!

Abuse became all too familiar.  And suffering was comfortable.

It damaged my self-esteem.  Before I knew it, DOMESTIC VIOLENCE became a household routine.

I experienced an all time low...not knowing what I now know...

not knowing I could rise above!

MY HEAVENLY FATHER TOOK ME UNDER HIS WINGS,

AND EMBRACED ME WITH HIS UNCONDITIONAL LOVE!

He spoke to my heart,

"My child, this is not the end,

Recognize your value, your worth...

your significance of being

BORN AGAIN!!!"

A message to you women...

Oh, let's not forget the men and the innocence of our youth.

Abuse does not discriminate, whatever your excuse!

It recognizes no nationalities

and/or races at hand.

Just simply being human

can make you a victim in demand!

So let go of your guilt, speak your voice, the decision is yours...

You make the choice!

You ponder the questions, "How and where can I get help...

What are my options?" 

How do I release this pride I hold inside?  How can I expose this hurt I hide?

Love yourself.  Protect yourself and your children.  Educate yourself.

Be ignorant no more!

There's a BRAND NEW YOU, waiting to be explored!

You are not alone.  Resources are available.  Advocates are here to support. 

Others have gone through, and they have come forth!

I was once a victim too!  And I have survived. 

I was once where you are.  But now, I stand alive!

I was once bound in fear.  But now, I stand here!

This NEW LIFE I experience, is amazingly joyous!

I was once a victim.  But now,

I STAND VICTORIOUS!!!
