"When I was a young girl, I often thought one day I would grow up, get married, have children and live happily ever after. Not!
Little did I know, I was headed for a series of broken relationships that took a turn for the worst.
I had my first sexual encounter at the age of 15, became pregnant and miscarried. At age 17, I became pregnant again and had my first child. Three years later, at the age of 21, I married my child's father and became pregnant again four years later, for the third time. I often wondered, had I had the money available to me for an abortion, my daughter wouldn't be here today. I thank God for not allowing that to happen!
After 10 challenging years of marriage, it eventually ended in divorce.
In addition to a failed marriage, I experienced common-law marriage, which ended in abandonment. I came home from work one day to find that my common-law husband had taken all of his belongings and left without any explanation.
Furthermore, I was in a 5-year relationship, which was going nowhere fast. I had asked God if this relationship isn't for me to remove it out of my life. And He did. I told my boyfriend God had called me to no longer be intimate with him. Once I did that, the relationship ended very quickly.
It wasn't until then that I became convicted by the Holy Spirit, surrendered my total being to God, and made a commitment to serve Him. I allowed God to take complete control of my life. It wasn't easy, but I witnessed His blessings taking place in my life immediately.
Psalms 37:4 says, "Take delight in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." Well, that is exactly what God did. I delighted myself in the Lord, meaning I put Him first and foremost in my life. He became my #1 priority. I aligned myself in His Will. God says, "He will give you the desires of your heart." My desire for a husband is a husband that God desires for me. God knows our heart. That's what makes Him so special. He knows what's best for us!
Psalms 34:8 says, "O taste and see that the Lord is good." It took me quite a few taste tests before I realized how good God is. But if we taste Him just once and believe that He is a God of all power who can do "far more exceedingly abundantly than we can ever imagine or ask," (Ephesians 3:20) He will produce miracles in our lives.
Psalms 118:23 says, "This is the Lord's doing. It is marvelous in our eyes."
Through my obedience in the Lord, He has rewarded me with a fruitful and joyous relationship in Him. What I enjoy most about our relationship is that together, we have a divine union that will last throughout eternity. We can experience and share His blessings and gifts to make a difference in the lives of other people.
Spiritually, prayerfully, emotionally, mentally and physically, I have been made a new creature in Christ. And there is still yet more to come!
Throughout my spiritual growth in the Lord, and His gift of the Holy Spirit, I have established an intimate and personal relationship in Him, as well as a secured foundation, and maintained my spiritual belief in Jesus Christ.
I am now experiencing God and His greatness as a new way of life!"

"First we lost our 2 sons. Then my husband got stomach cancer. Then I got breast cancer. Then I had brain surgery in 2008. During the surgery I had a stroke. I asked God in the hospital what was I here for? Clearly it came to me that my assignment is to help others get healthy because He delivered me from cancer (my husband too), survived the stroke and went back to work in 2 months doing accounting work! Now the words "Your body is your temple" have more meaning. He can't use us to forward the Kingdom message if we aren't healthy!
I broke my foot at choir rehearsal in 8/09. I was there doing ministry but couldn't minister because I couldn't stand up! Think how you would feel if you wanted to serve Him, but couldn't because you didn't take care of yourself. Of course, it was an accident that I fell, but what if you couldn't minister or even just function day-to-day because you weren't taking your meds, or watching your weight, cholesterol, etc. Think about it. Honor your temple and the one who created it. We are fearfully and wonderfully made!"
